As I reach home after a hectic day
I find my kids bent on their books
Hardly see them playing any game
Bliss of innocence disappearing silently
In the puzzles of mathematics,
Chemical bonding and formulae of physics
History another burden for them
Memorizing the hierarchy of kingdoms
And ever changing list of ministers
Too much data for poor little minds
They get up with books in hand
They sleep while book on their chest
Home work is the biggest devil, I feel
Making little ones grow too fast
No time to play, no time to cheers
Even If they find some time for fun
They would like to play video games
Changing TV channels, changing so fast
With remote in their one hand
Other hand busy in sending SMS
Lucky were we at their age, I feel
Home work was not a burden those days
Playing hide and seek with friends
Swinging around tree trunks in woods
Making sand castles and toys of clay
Playing with colorful glass marbles
Playing with broken bangles and pebbles
The bedtime stories from Dadi Maa
How simple was our life those days
How complicated their life is these days
Are we not to be blamed for their plight?

yash, its altogether different from the rest entries..............each and every word takes to the memory lane of childhood..........which we enjoyed the most ...........the poem's approach is so realistic and natural..........great job
